Critical Findings on Thoracic Imaging

 Webinar | 27th June 2023
5pm EEST/4pm CET/3pm WET

The prevalence of critical findings in imaging studies in the outpatient setting is not negligible. These are findings that require nonroutine communication with the referring physician because of their urgency or unexpectedness, and that may be ultimately critical for the patients' outcome.

The goal of this Webinar, exclusive for Affidea teams, is to impact on workflow performance by building up expertise in the Team, among radiologists and radiographers, who are the first to contact with the images of our patients' examinations.

Timely identification and communication of critical findings is not only a benchmark for patient safety recommendations but also a substantial satisfaction index among referring physicians.

Didactic cases that go beyond what meets the eye on the routine practice of radiologists will be addressed, as well as those subtle though potentially emergent findings that are true diagnostic challenges and have significant impact on patient management.
At a time where we have moved from the previous traditional real-time reporting to postponed reporting, this topic comes particularly important and serves as a quality and safety improvement initiative.

Opportunities to develop future process improvement methods include the role of Information Technology in offering solutions to improve the notification process, as well as Deep-learning algorythms for risk stratification in workflow lists.
