Contrast Agents in Diagnostic Imaging: Myths and Truths - Iodine & Gadolinium.

Nowadays, the clinical decision to administrate contrast medium does not need to be a dilemma, and grounds to fundament the administration of contrast media in everyday clinical practice are hepful for decison-making at the scanning room.

Since the first contrast media were introduced for diagnostic imaging, continuous developments and long-term experience have increased knowledge and allowed to improve the efficacy and safety of the administration of contrast agents.

On the one hand, patient safety is a concern and must be assured at all times, in a patient-tailored fashion, regarding risk vs benefit.

On the other hand, patients need to have studies as highly informative as possible, and in some cases, administration of contrast media is decisive for optimal diagnostic accuracy and ultimately for clinical decision and patients do depend on contrasted examinations.

In this webinar, a practical approach to the everyday clinical dilemmas is addressed, based on current Guidelines and recommendations, to have a deeper learning on truths and mitigate some myhts to ensure that state-of-the-art decisions are taken.
