“You don’t notice us.” Patient Video Campaign in Poland

Affidea Wałbrzych International Oncology Centre (MCO), in cooperation with the Specialist Dr. A. Sokołowski Hospital, have launched an unusual video campaign named “You don’t notice us.”  Its objective is to build awareness among the patients of DolnyŚląsk (Wałbrzych, Legnica and Wrocław, as well as surrounding regions within the catchment area) that they have a place nearby where they can receive professional treatment for cancer.

Real patients of Affidea Wałbrzychtook part in the campaign – a cinema experiment - which brought their stories to local audiences. The three protagonists, Gosia, Ryszard and Norbert, are all recovered oncology patients, whose stories bring hope to those suffering from the disease.

“By presenting the profiles of these local residents, who have struggled with cancer, we want to show people that the oncology problem is not somewhere far away, any of us can experience it. On the other hand, it gives hope that cancer can be overcome, with the possibility of returning to a normal life and passions. Very important to patients’ recovery is being treated near their families, close to home,” commented Joanna Borczak, Marketing Manager Affidea Polska.

The campaign is being launched on Polish web portals, in local cinemas, as well as on both Facebook and YouTube. The President of the City of Wałbrzych has assumed honorary patronage over the campaign and its partners are the Wałbrzych Amazons and PROFEMINA - important Patient Associations.
