Recent Developments at Affidea

The last few weeks have been a time of very interesting developments for Affidea.

Most notably, I met recently with Prof. Ricky Sharma, consultant to discuss developments in clinical oncology.
Professor Ricky Sharm is Chair of Radiation Oncology at University College London and Scientific Group Leader at the UCL Cancer Institute.

I also had really interesting meeting with Dr Sarah Gordon to discuss risk management, health & safety, pathways and protocols as well as to receive feedback and discuss changes our AIMS system (Affidea Incident Management System) which unifies and provides a coded method of incident reporting and promotes a culture of openess and clinical excellence.

Here at Affidea we will also soon announce rollout of a system which aims to capture all forms of feedback from clinical centres across our network, positive or negative. Currently we collect feedback on a smaller scale, which unfortunately does not allow us a broad enough scope of evidence, again positive or negative, to provide useful feedback to improve centresand make the patient experience the best possible!

I’ve also been interviewing for our new Clinical Academy Leader, who will begin leading the field on training and education across the entire Affidea group to identify gaps in knowledge and accommodate resources for all clinical staff and employees. Lots of quality contenders were found and we look forward to announcing the successful candidate of this post soon.
