Affidea Group Expands Into UK Through The Acquisition Of Fortius Clinic

Affidea Group, the leading European provider of diagnostic imaging, outpatient and cancer care services has today announced the acquisition of Fortius Clinic, the UK’s single largest orthopedic group with an international reputation in orthopaedics and MSK. This acquisition represents a strategic milestone for Affidea and fits perfectly with the company’s strategy of growth to develop a portfolio of outpatient services, while building upon a complementary geographic footprint.

Fortius clinic was founded in 2009 by a group of like-minded clinicians with a vision to create a worldwide centre of excellence in musculoskeletal care. After 12 years of successful growth, Fortius is now the largest single group of orthopaedic and MSK consultants in Europe, with more than 90 leading specialists, and ranks among the top 20 orthopaedic groups in the world. It operates three outpatient and diagnostic clinics in central London, as well as the Fortius Surgical Centre and a specialist Joint Replacement Centre in partnership with Bupa.

Fortius has been accredited as “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission in 2019, in recognition of the holistic and compassionate care in orthopaedic and MSK treatment. The company is the preferred clinic of choice for many premier league football clubs and is a recognised FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.

Fortius Clinic is the third acquisition that Affidea has completed in the last three months and demonstrates the continued commitment to the successful expansion of its business model and appetite for growth.
