Affidea CMO: Happy World Health Day 2021!
Every year, on April 7th, we celebrate the World Health Day. This year’s theme is “Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone”, and calls for urgent action to eliminate health inequities and mobilise action to attain better health for all and leave no one behind.
Health is a fundamental human right. Everyone deserves to live a healthy life regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, disability, economic situation or employment.
One year into the greatest crisis of our time, there is no question that Covid-19 has seriously impacted people and countries already experiencing inequities. But, at the same time, the pandemic has highlighted the importance of collaboration, of caring and protecting each other.
While we were hoping to recover and return to a normal life, pandemic is still here and there is no question that we still face unprecedented risks. However, we also have a great opportunity to make health and safety the foundation of a more secure and more equitable world.
With the start of the vaccination campaigns across the countries, a light of hope shines over our lives but we need to remain cautious and act responsibly, in order to protect ourselves and the ones around us.
That’s why, on this World Health Day, I encourage you all to continue to respect all the safety measures and not let your guard down. Covid-19 has showed that no one is safe until everyone is safe. This aspect stays at the core of everything we do - protecting our people and our patients.
